“In this course, I learned a great deal about yoga and its effectiveness in the rehab world.  I am astonished that with such documented evidence of the effects of yoga, it hasn’t become incorporated in every therapy clinic/department. I hope we as a class of therapists help to change that (of course with Kim’s brilliant support). Thank you, Kim, for your support of the therapists and our instruction in yoga practice benefits to those who long to contribute!”

(Danielle, PT)

"After taking the Revolutionary Yoga Rehabilitation Workshop, I started a Yoga Rehab DVD rental program at our clinic where patients pay $10 to have the DVD for home use for 2 weeks. My patients really enjoy the DVDs and find them a great complement to Physical Therapy. We rent between 5-15 DVDs per month so purchasing the bundle more than pays for itself!"

This course adds a great new method to enhance your therapeutic toolbox to improve mind, body, and soul in teaching your patients how to move, breathe and accept, be at peace with where you are at this moment. Dr. Kim helps teach you ways to modify each movement and post so that any patient can participate and gain control And function. This course was great! I was very satisfied with the flow, each day went fast. Some examples with actual patients or videos might be helpful for further enhance how modifications work, demonstrating progression. Our hospital rehab department had 13 people participate with an Our hospital rehab department had 13 people participate with occupational therapist and physical therapist and rec therapy. We will now be able to help each other at and cover for each other with the same reference point and set of eyes to approach the patient.
Thank you so much! Jackie, Director of Rehabilitation Hospital, CA

I learned how to modify poses taught in a variety of yoga classes to focus on how our body moves and ways to encourage proper positioning for strength and functional movement. I learned how to break down the components to grade the posture for different diagnoses or skill sets. Going through yoga classes throughout the course with question and answer opportunities as well as small group allowed further clarification and problem-solving. Learning to be more present in our own practice if something feels funky, step back and really look at what is trying to achieve. Kim encouraged us to be free within the poses to fill it out and notice how moving different parts of our body changes the sensations, stretches, muscle contractions, we feel.
Katie, PT, California hospital rehab

I found this course to be helpful in learning Proper form and safer positions. I’ve learned That newer yoga techniques versus traditional techniques may actually cause pain and lead to injury. I probably never did positions correctly and was resting in my ligaments. Understanding my own body and seeing how difficult these positions are will help me when teaching my own patients. I also love having my coworkers during this learning process as this will be a great way to collaborate in the future.
Julie, Occupational therapist, hospital rehab, California

Great yoga class and education course to take for rehabilitation therapist to be practical kinesthetic hands-on approach to, yoga poses. Developed great cues to properly build your patience in a pose and what to watch out for like common compensations. Inspired my skill set to use clinical observation, common sense, and clinical judgment to create modifications and adaptions of yoga poses for special populations. And to use colleagues as a collective to develop yoga modifications, etc. Great team building experience to learn and develop skills as a department!
Shelby, physical therapist, Neuro hospital rehabilitation, California

what I enjoyed from the course: I appreciate the activity and that the lecture was not standard seated at a desk. As therapist, I believe we are mostly kinesthetic learners, and the layout of this course was fantastic for this group. I felt learning the three core motivations of an individual is enlightening and will make us all more mindful therapist. also breaking down areas of the body and treatment planning was so valuable to the team, and I feel confident in recommending and creating treatment plans for our patients based on their diagnoses and symptom impairments. Thank you for your patience with our group and I truly value the skills I have learned in this course new paragraph.
Hindi, physical therapist for Neuro rehab hospital, California

The yoga bio mechanic certification course was a great compliment to my occupational therapy knowledge base. It has tied together, total body, mind body techniques that I can utilize for work, but also for myself. Poses were reviewed, practiced and corrected altered all to contribute for learning key factor that was very important to me is that poses reflect function, which is related to all of my neurological training in previous certifications. I am not sure what I would change as class and Kim were open about adapting coursework. Benefit from having group from same hospital was that coworkers can go back and incorporate into treatments and discuss with one another what works or not.
Cynthia, Occupational therapist,Neuro rehab hospital, California

The course brought awareness to my body positions and me. Each morning after practicing gave me peace and intention to start my day. I learned how to properly align my body and use muscles not ligaments to gain positions. Breathing is still at work. I need to incorporate fully and concentrate to practice. When I first started, I had been doing yoga for years, but this course allowed me to learn and teach proper techniques to assist myself and patience in the future. Learning this as a group, we can continue to learn from each other and run ideas of each other to bring back to our patients as a staff. I feel we are more one and engaged with each other more.
Shelley, physical therapist, hospital, rehab, California.

Great experience! Did not know what to expect going into this. I appreciate the breakdown of each pose education on the importance of the breath for not only patient we see, but for my own practice. I feel the group project projects were a challenge in but awesome experience and help to build some confidence in including yoga programs to realistic populations with whom we work and the ability for us to move forward with program development. I appreciate Kim‘s patience and flexibility throughout the class. I feel confident that I have the ability to access the information learned in this course and make modifications specific to my client. I’m also grateful to have taken this course with my colleagues. So we can all serve as resources to one another. Thank you, thank you! Maya, physical therapist, hospital rehab, California.
